I just learned of a great series of calls that is happening in January with some of the top female throwers in the US participating. The calls happen Sunday and Tuesday nights at 7PM Central time. Upcoming speakers include Aretha Thurmond (discus), Amber Campbell (hammer throw), Britney Henry (hammer throw), Suzy Powell Roos (discus), Kara Patterson (javelin), and Stephanie Brown Trafton (discus). With the start of the high school season right around the corner, there are a couple of clinic opportunities for athletes in and around southern Wisconsin. The first is coming up this weekend in Waukesha. Championship Track and Field Camps will once again be hosting their winter learn-by-doing clinic at Waukesha South High School, on December 17. I had a scheduling conflict come up, so I will not be [...] Steve Bartholomew over at Dominator Athletics is very serious about testing his implements. He has thrown them out of moving vehicles, run over them with semi trucks, had the top throwers in the world throw them, and even shot them out of a cannon. Check out Steve’s shot put test below. |
