Although cool and overcast, the weather held steady on day two of the national meet. Today the women’s hammer throw was contested, along with the men’s and women’s shot put competitions. The D3 National Championships got underway today at Ohio Wesleyan University. OWU has a beautiful campus and a nice track facility, but the hammer and discus facility is not very spectator friendly. The circle is surrounded by trees, and with the restricted access typical at national meets, it was difficult to get a good view of the circle. I just got this email from Matt Oldenburg, who is organizing the Southeastern WI Throws Pentathlon once again. I didn’t make it to it last year, but I’ve heard from the competitors that it was really a great event. This year, it is USATF Sanctioned. Dave, My name is Matthew Oldenburg.
