More and more high school shot putters are utilizing the rotational technique. Currently, two rotators are leading the WIAA boys honor roll after a couple of early season meets. Theron Baumann of Monona Grove, owns the top mark in the state at 60′ 3″, and Jason Zahn of Grafton, is close behind him at 59′ 8.25″. You can see video of both of them competing at the Nelson-Daniels Invitational [...] The much anticipated WIAC championship weight throw competitions did not disappoint on Saturday. The men started things off. The competition saw a field where 8 of the competitors are currently ranked in the top 12 in the country, including the current national leader, Ben Ludtke (Sr – UW-Oshkosh) seeded at 20.24m, and the defending national champion, Pete Delzer (Jr – UW-Oshkosh) coming in with the number 3 seed with [...] Yesterday we completed day 1 of the WIAC Championship meet. The men’s shot put saw 7 of the top 20 throwers in the country competing, while the women’s competition had 3 competitors ranked in the top 10 nationally. The favorites coming into the meet were current national leaders Andy Novak from UW-La Crosse, and Breanna Strupp from UW-Oshkosh and they did not disappoint. Novak led off the competition [...] 
I just learned of a great series of calls that is happening in January with some of the top female throwers in the US participating. The calls happen Sunday and Tuesday nights at 7PM Central time. Upcoming speakers include Aretha Thurmond (discus), Amber Campbell (hammer throw), Britney Henry (hammer throw), Suzy Powell Roos (discus), Kara Patterson (javelin), and Stephanie Brown Trafton (discus).
