Results from D1 Nationals Day 2

Nikola Lomnicka, sophomore from Georgia, did not dissapoint yesterday in the women’s hammer competition at day 2 of the D1 NCAA National Championships.  She has been atop the leaderboard for most of outdoor season.  She opened up the competition with a decisive 64.19m, which proved to be the best mark in the competition until her final attempt in which she hit 65.57 meters.  Her brother is the favorite to win the men’s competition today.

Best Weight Throw Competitions in D3 History

Coming into the national meet the fields in both the men’s and women’s weight throws looked very strong.  It took considerably farther distances to make it into the meet this year than it ever has before.
